Open Data Resources

Curated, reusable datasets from BIA Lab publications — released for the community to build on.

Each dataset listed here is a direct output of a lab publication and has been released in a form intended for independent reuse. Format, scale, and access information are summarised on each card. If you use any of these datasets in your work, please cite the associated paper. Citations are the primary currency of academic science and directly support the lab's ability to secure funding and continue producing open resources for the community.

Norton-Steele A, Zhou FY et al. · Nature Communications 17:8409, 2026

Two augmented shape-texture benchmark collections derived from the MPEG-7 corpus and Brodatz textures, created to evaluate the SAM phenomics framework. The first applies binary dilation and topological in-filling to improve mask contiguity. The second combines MPEG-7 shape classes with normalised Brodatz texture features, yielding 10,000 synthetic image patches for systematic benchmarking of appearance descriptors.
